Our History
AgChoice was created in response to the Australian Wheat Board (AWB) loss of the single desk trading monopoly, for bulk wheat exports.
The rapid entry into the market of both on and offshore based exporters – combined with major reforms to AWB governance and operations – overwhelmed AWB’s commodities trading agenda and the project was ended. Much has happened in the industry since that time and AWB trading has been merged with other entities.
Keeping pace with those changes, AgChoice directors have used their industry knowledge, background and experience, along with formal and informal feedback from farmers, industry and Australia’s agricultural leadership, to develop the platform into a comprehensive stand-alone trading platform for a much wider range of agricultural commodities.
